"All too little attention has been paid to that 'natural' foot. That's the way he was made; that's the way he should go" J.R. Rooney, DVM (The Lame Horse)

Yes, horses can race, jump and perform any discipline perfectly well  and  better barefoot. They are more sure footed, have more traction and stay sound longer.

Ours do, Yours can too!

"
Cause no harm - respect the healing powers of nature."

Our model is based on the true wild horses foot found in the American West.  These horses run many miles a day over some of the most rugged terrain known to man. What we don't see is any lameness or suffering caused by laminitis or navicular disease.  We stand for the whole horse.  What we feed them, how they are housed, the condition of their feet, all profoundly impact this noble animal's health. Our model is found in nature. Even our domestic horses can achieve this when given the chance.

LETS TALK ABOUT THE SOLE AND HOOF CONCAVITY

As a trained hoof care practitioner, I do not carve into the horses sole or pare down the frog. The concavity seen in the above domestic racehorse's hoof was built naturally by the horse himself. AT NO TIME DID I TOUCH THIS HORSES LIVE SOLE OR CARVE THE FOOT TO OBTAIN THIS DEEP CONCAVITY. An experienced and educated practitioner knows how to read the horse's sole. The sole is the window to the hoof. A highly skilled natural hoof care practitioner who is trimming to the true wild horse model, understands how to read the live sole and the healing angle of the hoof and can achieve soundness on every horse they touch.   A  true natural diet can be the distinguishing factor between a completely sound horse and a mildly laminitic one. That means no sugar or non-structural carbs from processed or packaged feeds. The natural diet of the equine species as seen in the wild consists of grass hay and minerals and they work harder than our domestic horses. Something to think about!
